The Pediatric Department at Val Verde Regional Medical Center’s (VVRMC) Rural Health Clinic is designed to appeal to youngsters. From the bright murals to the dedicated space, it has everything required to make a visit to the doctor a lot easier. SUPERHEROES ARE COMPASSIONATE The Pediatric Team has the expertise and devotion to attend to the most vulnerable members of the community—children. With five doctors and a nurse practitioner available to serve you and your child, VVRMC offers the very best in pediatric care. The physicians’ schedules have been expanded to make sure a physician is available when you need one. The Walk-In Department at VVRMC’s Rural Health Clinic has pediatricians assisting every day except Sunday. This way, if your child’s needs are urgent, there is pediatric support available. SUPERHEROES ARE FLEXIBLE Three of the pediatricians are inpatient, which means they can serve your child if they need to be hospitalized. In the future, VVRMC will be creating an entire inpatient unit dedicated to pediatric care. VVRMC cares about the unique needs of your child. Pediatrics/Pediatría Pediatricians to the rescue! VVRMC PHYSICIANS FAITHFULLY PROTECT YOUR CHILD’S HEALTH SUPERHEROES HELP EVERYONE VVRMC offers you a pediatrician trained to serve adolescent health care issues who is passionate about providing teens with everything they need to keep them healthy and informed as their bodies change. Don’t forget, pediatricians serve those from birth to age 18. VVRMC is also spearheading a task force on preventing teen pregnancy in the community and piloting a program called “Teen Fit” to help overweight teens reach and maintain a healthy weight. Studies have shown that overweight teens can experience bullying and depression. VVRMC superheroes are ready to help! Each of VVRMC’s Pediatric Superheroes is dedicated to getting and keeping kids healthy and preventing them from getting sick. Wellness visits are important and should be scheduled yearly to make sure your child is doing well.
