Keeping Well/Mantenerse Sano 7 New Infusion Center to add convenience Nuevo Centro de Infusión para más comodidad Patient services/Servicios al paciente V AL VERDE REGIONAL MEDICAL Center (VVRMC) already offers a wide variety of infusion services to patients. These include hydration, IV antibiotics, blood transfusions, treatments for multiple sclerosis, anemia treatments and more. Basically, most types of infusion treatments prescribed by a physician anywhere can be administered at VVRMC. And along with the infusion services are catheter changes, central line maintenance and bladder irrigation, to name a few. The issue until now has been that there was no central location to offer these services, often making it inconvenient for patients and trained medical staff. Upon review, it was determined that a more organized process, better coordination of services, and dedicated space and staffing would allow VVRMC to offer a premier experience to patients seeking the treatments offered by the Infusion Center. “The services have always been here,” says Cris Diaz, Director of Med/Surg. “We just streamlined the process and will have a dedicated space.” The Infusion Center will be near the main entrance of the hospital, making it convenient to people coming in for outpatient treatments. There will be a nurse scheduled to support the administration of the services, the scheduling, registration and the financial aspects. V AL VERDE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER (VVRMC) ya ofrece una amplia variedad de servicios de infusión para los pacientes. Estos incluyen hidratación, antibióticos intravenosos, transfusiones de sangre, tratamientos para la esclerosis múltiple, tratamientos para la anemia y más. Básicamente, la mayoría de los tipos de tratamientos de infusión indicados por un médico en cualquier lugar se pueden realizar en VVRMC. Y junto con los servicios de infusión, se incluyen cambios de sondas, mantenimiento de vías centrales e irrigación vesical, entre otros. El problema hasta ahora fue que no había un lugar centralizado para ofrecer estos servicios, lo que a menudo genera inconvenientes para los pacientes y el personal médico capacitado. Luego de una revisión, se determinó que un proceso más organizado, una mejor coordinación de los servicios y un espacio y personal exclusivos permitirían a VVRMC ofrecer una excelente experiencia a los pacientes que buscan los tratamientos que se ofrecen en el Centro de Infusión. “Los servicios siempre estuvieron aquí”, dice Cris Diaz, Directora de Med/Cirugía. “Simplemente agilizamos el proceso y dispondremos de un espacio exclusivo”. El Centro de Infusión estará cerca de la entrada principal del hospital, por lo que será cómodo para las personas que vengan a recibir tratamientos ambulatorios. Habrá una enfermera que trabajará como apoyo para la administración de los servicios, la programación, el registro y los aspectos económicos.
