V AL VERDE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER (VVRMC) is happy to announce the arrival of a new general surgeon. Lisa Palacheck, MD, joined the surgical team at VVRMC on January 13. Dr. Palacheck is board-certified and has years of experience as a surgeon. She received her degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She did her general surgery internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, and her residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She spent nearly 10 years as an active duty general surgeon in the U.S. Navy, serving in both the U.S. and Japan. She has already joined a local church and sings in their choir. Dr. Palacheck performs many procedures, including hernia repair, gallbladder removal, breast surgery, hemorrhoid care and more. She specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, which uses small incisions and video-guided instruments to perform surgery without opening up an entire segment of the body.
