(VVRMC) has a vision: “To be the premier
provider for all healthcare needs.” This is
VVRMC’s new vision statement, and the hospital is
acting on it.
The focus on the smallest members of the region is
evident. VVRMC recently opened a clinic dedicated to
pediatric services. The entire building, including its
decoration and furniture, is kid-friendly and family-
focused. Working with local artists and children in
Mexico, the hospital provides murals and art that are
soothing and fun for the youngest members of the area
when they visit their health care providers.
SPECIALTY SERVICES
Aside from a pediatric clinic dedicated to young people,
VVRMC also offers urological services for youth.
“Urologists, myself included, are trained in both adult
and pediatric issues,” says
Kenneth Moore,
MD
. “We can see and diagnose pediatric
urological issues. Our limitations are
only that we don’t do procedures
requiring general anesthesia for
children under 2 years of age.
We can evaluate any urological
issue.”
VVRMC is dedicated to
providing services for every age
group in our area.
The Institute for Therapeutic
Medicine at VVRMC offers
physical therapy and rehabilitative
services specifically designed for
pediatric patients. There is a large room
dedicated to services for little ones, designed
specifically to incorporate fun and play with the physical
therapy experience.
As you walk through the hospital, you can frequently
hear laughter coming from the pediatric physical therapy
room. It is good to know they are receiving the benefits
of physical therapy services and having fun at the same
time.
The hospital also provides telepsych services for
young patients. Youth can receive psychiatric services
without having to travel long distances. Traveling can
be difficult in the best of situations—and even more
challenging for youth with serious mental health issues.
It is much more beneficial for them to receive services in
a timely fashion closer to home.
