Val Verde RMC | Keeping Well | Fall/Otoño 2017

Four cultures, one mural ART PROJECT FOSTERS UNITY, UNDERSTANDING AND FRIENDSHIP A MERICAN, Mexican, Otomi and Navajo—all cultures were represented in an art mural project bringing seven young artists from the Centro de Arte Falcon in Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Del Rio. Seven local youngsters were chosen to participate with the indigenous children, and together they created a mural they call “Four Cultures/Cuatro Culturas.” The artists received support from Val Verde Regional Medical Center, Centro de Arte Falcon and the Mexican Consulate in Del Rio. Local businesses and nonprofit organizations provided meals and enrichment activities for the youngsters. The project was all about unity, understanding and friendship. Community/Comunidad Cuatro culturas, un mural UN PROYECTO ARTÍSTICO FOMENTA LA UNIDAD, LA COMPRENSIÓN Y LA AMISTAD E STADOUNIDENSE, mexicana, otomí y navaja: todas las culturas estuvieron representadas en un proyecto artístico que congregó a siete jóvenes artistas del Centro de Arte Falcón en Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, México, para realizar un mural en Del Rio. Siete jóvenes locales fueron seleccionados para participar con los niños indígenas y juntos crearon un mural que llaman “Four Cultures/Cuatro Culturas”. Los artistas contaron con el apoyo de Val Verde Regional Medical Center, el Centro de Arte Falcón y el Consulado de México en Del Rio. Empresas locales y organizaciones sin fines de lucro suministraron comidas y propusieron actividades enriquecedoras para los jóvenes.
