After much deliberation, multiple meetings and
decision making, the Culture Committee (composed of
a group of individual employees who were passionate
about these changes) compromised and developed the
new mission statement.
“Our old mission statement was long and difficult
to memorize; and no one knew what it stood for,” says
committee member Angela Prather, Community and
Hospitality Director. “The new one defines us well.”
A
mission
statement defines a business. It is the reason
for your existence and defines a business’s contribution
to its environment. “We live to deliver healthcare our
community can trust” is the breathing embodiment of
VVRMC’s business.
A
vision
statement is the mental image of an
organization’s ideal. “To be the premier provider for all
healthcare needs” is the new vision statement. This is the
future VVRMC is striving to create for the community.
This will keep the community from feeling they have to
travel to receive quality health care outside of Val Verde
County. This vision shapes what VVRMC does on a
daily basis and defines where they are headed. Val Verde
Regional Medical Center is focused on its vision.
VVRMC created a
legacy
statement to reflect past,
present and future foci for the organization. Mission and
vision statements may change, but a legacy statement
does not. A legacy is about life and living. It’s about
learning from the past, living in the present and building
for the future. “We strengthen our foundation through
empowerment.” This statement is about building a
team that will grow with more education, skill sets and
certifications—all in an effort to live out the mission
and vision statements. The three work together to create
cohesive goals, moving VVRMC into a bright future.
Val Verde Regional Medical Center has been a part of
the community since the 1950s. The focus has been, and
remains, on working with and for the community. By
sharpening the focus with the new mission, vision and
legacy statements, every employee and every member
of the community knows exactly what is expected and
where Val Verde Regional Medical Center is headed. It is
a very exciting time to be a part of the hospital.

define a una empresa. Es el
motivo de su existencia y define el aporte que la empresa hace
a su entorno. “Vivimos para ofrecer atención médica en la que
la comunidad pueda confiar” es el vivo reflejo de VVRMC.
Una declaración de
visión
es la imagen mental del ideal de
una organización. “Ser el proveedor líder de atención médica”
es la nueva visión. Este es el futuro que VVRMC busca crear
para la comunidad. Esto evitará que la comunidad sienta que
debe viajar para recibir atención médica de calidad fuera del
condado de Val Verde. Esta visión refleja lo que VVRMC hace
a diario y define su dirección. Val Verde Regional Medical
Center se centra en su visión.
VVRMC creó una declaración de
legado
para reflejar
los objetivos principales pasados, presentes y futuros de
la organización. Las declaraciones de misión y visión
pueden cambiar, pero la declaración de legado permanece
inalterable. Un legado trata de la vida y de vivir. Se trata de
aprender del pasado, de vivir el presente y de construir el
futuro. “Reforzamos nuestra base al ofrecer confianza”. Esta
declaración se trata de construir un equipo que crecerá con
más educación, destrezas y certificaciones —todo en pos
de representar la misión y la visión. Las tres declaraciones
trabajan en conjunto para crear objetivos coherentes y crear
un mejor futuro para VVRMC.
Val Verde Regional Medical Center forma parte de la
comunidad desde la década de 1950. El objetivo principal ha
sido —y sigue siendo— trabajar con la comunidad y para ella.
Al redefinir el objetivo principal con la nueva misión, visión y
legado, todos los empleados y los miembros de la comunidad
saben exactamente qué se espera de Val Verde Regional
Medical Center y hacia dónde se dirige. Es un excelente
momento para formar parte del hospital.
